Estelle Ostro looks on as Chief Instructor George Kennedy demonstrates defensive methods at the Aikido Center.

Chief Instructor and 8th degree black belt George Kennedy has taught the defensive strategies of Aikido for over 8 years at the Aikido Center of Atlanta at 116 Center Street in Avondale Estates. The dojo was founded in 1967.

Kennedy's class practices defensive methods for three different forms of attack: katate, ryote dori, and tski. Kennedy says the martial art is purely defensive and there is no competition.
