Atlanta Symphony Bass Clarinet Alcides Rodriguez To Perform Concert Featuring Works From New CD "The Venezuelan Clarinet"
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s bass clarinetist, Alcides Rodriguez, will perform music from his new CD “The Venezuelan Clarinet,” Monday, July 19 at 8:00 p.m. at Peachtree Presbyterian Church. Joining him will be renowned Venezuelan musicians Aquiles Báez (cuatro and guitar), Roberto Koch (bass) and Jackeline Rago (maracas and percussion). The concert will include songs from his newest, Venezuelan-inspired album and will feature contemporary folk music, ranging from lively and rhythmic “joropos,” to lyrical and melancholic “valses.”
Special guests will include colleagues from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra: Mike Tiscione (trumpet), Bill Thomas (trombone) and Juan Ramirez (guitar).
